Emily Dickinson described death in her poem Because I could not stop for death. She depicts death as this nice person that takes her on a joyful ride, a date. Death shows up at her door not as a scary image but as a nice person. Not once does she mention or hint that she is scared or sad about it although she knew that she is with death. She described death in such a way that you don’t fear it because it happens to everyone, everyone dies. They go on with their ride and see nice things, kids playing and scenery that is pleasing to the eye. At the end of the ride they go to her grave but she doesn’t describe it as a grave but more as a nice room.

I think she is right about death, that we shouldn’t fear it because it happens to everyone and every living thing that roams the earth. To me I see death as a release from all the pain and suffering that we go through on earth. Although people die in painful and often scary ways they are free from pain in the end. I also think that death is only a relief when you have accomplished what you desire in your heart and mind. I cant say that going on a date with death like described in the poem would be fun, honestly its quiet weird and creepy.
